Life Support

Hi, my name is Rachel and I'm addicted to the Internet. Okay, there, are you happy now, TOIAW? My laptop died this weekend. It's been sad around our house. Fortunately, we have what I refer to as The Dinosaur: The First Laptop Ever Manufactured. We haven't used it for internet purposes in quite some time so it required a few days to get it back in fighting condition. This kind of thing is firmly in TOIAW's area of responsibility and even though I clearly expressed how important it was to me that he "get me back online ASAP," he gave me some nonsense excuse about work blah, blah, blah. There were a few products purchased in order to adapt the computer to our internet connection (because it's not dial-up) and frantic searching for floppy disks to load the new software in order to use the new equipment. When is the last time you saw a floppy disk? That's what I thought. Anyway, it looks like the computer is on life support due to all the cords connected to it. Who cares, it works! The only slight drawback is that the fan doesn't work so I have to turn it off and let it cool down every now and then. That's probably a good thing now that I realized I am a total addict.

Let's just say God got my attention and we're dealing with it. Like any addiction, the time you spend with your addiction is time you do not spend with the other things in life you love.
